Apostolic Center has a long legacy of faith in Mattoon. Since 1924, we have been gathering to worship Jesus, and inviting others to do the same. Keep reading to learn more about our history as a community.

Here’s a timeline of our journey.

Starting as a tent revival with a small group of believers, our numbers grew, and in 1931, under the leadership of Rev. Borror, we became First Apostolic Church, and moved into 2205 Lafayette Ave.

First Apostolic Church moved to the 1313 S. 9th Street location pastored by Rev. Hayes

Rev Derold & Judy Doughty were called to Mattoon and were voted in as pastors of First Apostolic Church at 1313 S. 9th St

Rev Shine & Lisa Doughty, were voted in as co-pastors of First Apostolic Church at 1313 S. 9th St

We broke ground on the current building located at 205 Country Club Road and changed the name of the church to Apostolic Center

Our Life Center was completed in its first stage, with a large gym, indoor playground, commercial kitchen, and classrooms, with plans to use unfinished space for more classrooms and student sanctuary in the future
That was a lot of history, but you may still have questions. Here’s what you need to know.
We meet at 205 Country Club Road in Mattoon IL!
